Never buy the over-priced taco seasoning packets again! This simple mix is delicious for all kinds of Mexican foods, chili, etc. I use this in my Chicken Taco Soup, too.
Three tablespoons if about the amount in a commercial 1-1/4 ounce package. Use about three tablespoons of spice mix per pound of meat.
Ingredients
- 2 T chili powder
- 1/2 t onion powder
- 1/2 t garlic powder
- 1/2 t oregano
- 1 t paprika
- 1 T cumin
- 2 t salt
- 2 t pepper
- 1/4 t red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Thoroughly mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
- Store in airtight container.

Tonight I was making taco salad for dinner when I found I didn’t have taco seasoning. Since I’d jut seen this recipe, I printed it off and quickly whipped it up. YUMMY! This is every bit as good as any brand at the store and it doesn’t have anything weird and hard to pronounce. It was super easy. I’m sold!
