Making big strides towards your goals means doing things differently than you've done in the past. Expanding your comfort zone makes these strides possible.
When looking where you can extend your reach in the world, consider how you can do the following areas of your life and a few suggestions:
- Expand Intellectual Ability
read classic literature, learn a new language, study a topic of interest in depth - Extend Physical Limits
lift weights, eat a vegan diet, run a marathon - Create Fun
get involved in a new hobby, learn a new joke every day, do something you haven't done since you were young - Strengthen Family
plan a family vacation, create a weekly game night, date your spouse - Create Friendships
get together with your high school buddies, join a club or group, take cookies to your neighbors - Serve Community
tutor at a local school, pick up trash in your city, serve at a local senior center - Excel in Your Career
find a mentor in your field, keep up on latest  research, show up early every day - Generate More Value
take a class to improve your skills, find ways to reduce manufacturing costs and reduce prices for your customers, lean management skills to better direct your employees - Forge a Strong Spiritual Foundation
read scriptures daily, pray, carefully consider the principles you will live by
Creating the life you dream of requires acceleration. Going with the flow doesn't work for most of us because our “flow” is just too slow. Look at your life and see how you can nudge the results out of the current stream and kick it into high gear. Finding ways to extend what you're already doing is the ticket to success.

The way I read this is to give myself a big shove. Rather than go with what is easy and comfortable, I should push my limits and get out of my comfort zone.
ponderme1, spot on. And I think it bears noting that it doesn’t mean we have to run a marathon in every aspect of our lives. Just a little stretch every day can eventually take us very far. 🙂
