I’ve always like Elder Holland, but really loved this talk. Especially the counsel to stop pouting and drinking pickle juice. 🙂
David Archuletta was singing in the second session missionary choir. Heh.
So good to see SISTER missionaries!
Loved Elder Holland’s talk.
Also, loved the talk about the difference between being true to the gospel and being true to the church or something along those lines.
After Elder Eyring’s talk, I am feeling very committed to never pray for trials. 😉
I absolutely adore Elder Ballard. The very first time I heard him speak was at a CES fireside in 1994 where he offered a correction to the audience (who began to stand during the closing hymn). He did it quickly, kindly, and with the tiniest bit of humor. He didn’t make a big deal out of it, but he saw the importance of nipping it in the bud before it became an ingrained habit that would be a big deal to stop.
18 years later, I am still a fan. Maybe he has a fan club! I think I’ll check.
Did anybody else notice the frequent references to the Mormon study that has recently been publicized?
I honestly loved pretty much all of conference. I would have loved to have heard from more sisters, but as one person “chastised” me on facebook, it’s the message, not the vessel delivering it that matters. (I still wonder why women can’t seem to be vessels, but whatever).
I adored Elder Ballard, even more so, since I had the pleasure of hearing from him at our stake conference recently, where he sent our poor choir director into a tizzy when he asked us to sing our song early, and then again at the end. President Uchtdorf is always a pleasure, and wonderful to hear. The kiddos even sat still while he was talking. President Monson was awesome and adorable as usual. I do believe that it was one of the best conference’s I have been able to hear.
The music was lovely too.
I can’t help it, I enjoyed this year more then any other year so far of my life!
Elder Holland is a very skillful speaker. The way he talks just have this motivating effect. I cannot wait to attend the next conference.
