Tracy Keeney
It was hot. It was humid. It was August, 1968, in Albany, New York, when I, came forth from my mother's womb. (Okay, dramatic flair over.) I grew up as an "Army Brat," moving often, and loved it. It was while in the military that my parents met with the missionaries and joined the Church in the early '70's.
I married my beau-hunk, William, in Atlanta, Georgia Temple, in the fall of 1990. The Keeney clan now lives smack in the middle of the New Jerusalem, the lovely Kansas City, Missouri. That's right, good ol' Jackson County—haven't been burned out yet! William is a police officer with the KCPD. So he's more than just my hero!
We have four fantastic kids. Sara is 14, James is 12, Mary is 9, and Emma is 7. Aside from raising children, running a home, and writing for Mormon Momma, I do music seminars and workshops called "Do You Feel What I Hear?" for LDS and non-LDS youth groups and private schools focusing on music and lyrics, and their effects for good or evil on the body, mind and spirit.
I also write Inspirational/Contemporary Christian and Country music, and dabble in choral music and hymns. I was shocked beyond imagination when my very first attempt at writing a choral piece won the 2003 Parley P. Pratt Memorial Composition Competition, and was published by Jackman Music Corporation. (Shameful plug.) I also wrote a song recently recorded by Christian Country singer Sheila Albritton, and have a website containing free downloads of some of my music at Sound Click. Stop by and give a listen!!
